If you are using other software, such as Protools, Reason, Fuityloops, Logic, Sonar, Mixcraft, Garageband etc. I can still help you, as the concepts I teach apply universallyto all DAWS. I've been doing computer based music production since 1998 and have experience with many genres. Feel free to peruse my samples page and listen to recordings I've made over the years. My production has improved significantly since I began in 1997, although I have left my old samples on my page to give you an idea of the chronology of my progress. Music composition and production is more than my job, it's my passion, and I practice it on a daily basis.

Regarding hardware, it is not necessary that you have a pro level sound card to produce or practice recording/production, however I recommend you purchase one if you plan on doing commercial level work.

Due to the vastly differing goals and varying levels of my students, my lesson plan varies from person to person, although I do tend to place a focus on ear training, both in the compositional sense (harmonic/melodic), and in the sound engineer sense(Spectral EQ, Dynamics, Mix balancing). Proper ear training is essential to your success as a sound engineer.

My approach will vary from student to student but I am equally happy to help you work on your own productions as I am with creating new material with you. If you have original material you wish for me to hear or help you "beef up", I suggest you copy your audio project to a USB key and bring it with you to our session, or if you have a project on a laptop, bring that with you and we can work on it together.

Feel free to discuss your goals. My job is to help you become the best audio producer you can be.
